The Scottish Low Carbon Investment Conference

Dr Abdullah is the Union Minister for New & Renewable Energy, Government of India – a post he has held since May, 2009.

Last year, the Scottish and Indian Governments signed a Memorandum of Undertaking promoting bilateral co-operation in the area of new and renewable energy.

In the past year India added record renewables capacity to its grid.

Dr Abdullah has thrice been Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir between 1983 to 2002, and has had four terms in two Houses of Indian Parliament.
